Deep blue sea - Kragen & Co.

In den letzten Tagen habe ich einiges an der Jacke geschafft, aber es wird mittlerweile auch Zeit, das Kleid wartet ja noch. Die Ärmel sind eingenäht und mit Besatz versehen. Der Kragen wird zusammengenäht und dann auf die erforderliche Weite eingeriehen. Zusammen mit dem gedoppelten Stoff war das eine recht rutschige Angelegenheit, das Ergebnis gefällt mir aber sehr ( das Bild zeigt die Unterseite des Kragens, der Oberkragen ist aus dem Jackenstoff ):

Since my deadline is approaching ( the wedding, where I want to wear DBS is on May 2nd ) and I still have to sew the dress I have to speed up the sewing process a little bit, which is not that easy with a full-time job, dancing lessons at least 3 times a week and life as such... But I do not want to complain, I enjoy every single thing :-). Last weekend I inserted the sleeves and added the collar, which has to be ruffled to fit . With the slippery organza this was a quite tricky procedure but I do really like the result. (Picture shows the undercollar, the uppercollar is cut from the dark fabric)
Der nächste komplizierte Schritt war der Besatz nebst Reissverschluss. Bei dieser Prozedur durfte ich dann mal wieder an meine Grenzen hinsichtlich räumlichem, logischen Vorstellungsvermögen gehen, ich habe das Ganze 3 x aufgetrennt um dann festzustellen, dass die erste Variante die Richtige war...Der Reissverschluss wird quasi falsch herum an den Besatz genäht. Die Kanten werden vorher eingeschnitten und umgebügelt. Die Anleitung ist zwar etwas rudimentär, aber zurückblickend betrachtet klar...nicht zuviel dabei denken!
Next step was to sew the facings and the zipper. This lead me again to the result: Don´t think - just follow the instructions, even when you think that they don´t make sense. The burda instructions are really short but - seeing this afterwards - quite clear.
The zipper is attached with the wrong side up to the facing. The edges are cut and ironed before.
Bevor ich den Besatz an der Jacke angenäht habe, bekam der noch eine schöne Kante mit Schrägband verpasst. Ich würde sagen, ich bin nun auf der Zielgeraden - allerdings muss ich erstmal noch etwas Schrägband besorgen, da habe ich mich etwas verschätzt...
Before attaching the facing to the jacket I made a Hongkong finish with bias tape. Now, I am almost done - but still have to buy some of the bias tape, I want to finish the hemline with it as well.
